At Cranleigh School, we value the collaborative support that allied health professionals provide to our students and families. We welcome external therapists to deliver services at school, provided the process below is followed.
For Parents and Carers
If an allied health provider contacts the school about working with your child, the following will occur:
- You will be asked to complete the Consent to Collect and Disclose Information and External Therapy Visits form.
- A copy will be sent home once a request is received.
- You may also request a copy at any time by emailing: info@cranleighps.act.edu.au
For Allied Health Providers
To request to deliver therapy at Cranleigh School:
- Email your request to info@cranleighps.act.edu.au. Please include the student's name, your role, and the type of service requested.
- You will receive:
- Our induction requirements, including a short online induction module
- The required forms to complete and return
- At the same time, the school will send consent forms to the family.
- Once both the provider’s forms and family consent are returned, the school staff will:
- Review the proposed goals to ensure they are suitable for the school setting
- Liaise with classroom teachers to determine appropriate times for sessions
- If approved, you will be contacted to arrange suitable session times, and services can commence.
Important Notes
- All therapy provided during school hours must align with students’ educational goals and classroom routines.
- The Principal retains discretion over the approval and continuation of therapy services on site.
- Therapy sessions will be regularly reviewed by school staff. If services are not being delivered in a way that supports the student’s learning or the wider classroom environment, the program may be adjusted or ceased.
