Volunteering

Cranleigh welcomes the support and assistance of parents and other members of the community who have an interest in working with the staff in the education of children with disabilties. Volunteers often work in the classroom under the supervision of the teacher. Tasks may include:

  • Working one to one with students or in small groups on activities such as literacy and numeracy
  • Assisting at mealtimes
  • Assisting on excursions
  • Assisting students in the gym or in the hydrotherapy pool.

Volunteers with particular skills or interests in other areas are also welcome. For example working in the school library, adapting toys and equipment for switch use, technology expertise or other administrative duties.

Cranleigh acknowledges the Department of Education and Training guidelines and policies in relation to volunteers.
